Cleveland Clinic Heart and Vascular Institute's Preventive Cardiology and Rehabilitation Program sees about 8,000 patients a year to assist with lifestyle modification strategies to improve cardiovascular health. The old saying, "You are what you eat," may be more true than we ever realized - especially when it comes to heart disease. In fact, four of the risk factors for heart disease are related to your diet: high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol, diabetes and obesity. Making changes in the food you eat may greatly improve your health. Like any other muscle in your body, the heart is also a muscle and needs exercise to remain in good shape. Regular exercise provides many benefits to your heart and your body. Take advantage of this opportunity to get tips on heart healthy foods and exercises and have your questions answered in a secure online setting with Gordon Blackburn, PhD and Julia Zumpano, RD, LD.
