Your thyroid is a butterfly-shaped organ that weighs about an ounce and is located at the base of your neck. This endocrine gland secretes hormones into your blood, which control many important functions including your body’s metabolism. Most people never give their thyroid a thought until something goes wrong. Yet, more than 20 million Americans have some type of thyroid disorder.

Cleveland Clinic is a national leader in caring for patients with all types of thyroid conditions, from the routine to the complex. Our patients benefit from access to a multidisciplinary staff, the most advanced technology and the latest clinical trials for thyroid conditions. Cleveland Clinic’s endocrinology program is ranked 2nd in the nation in U.S. News & World Report’s annual America’s Best Hospitals survey.
